Yorkshire Status: Common and fairly widespread resident.

Muslin moth is well distributed across low-lying parts of the county. Males are nocturnal and come to light, usually in small numbers, though counts can sometimes reach double figures. The white females are more active in the daytime and are rarely reported. Out of nearly 6,000 records on the database, seven are labelled female. Numbers and distribution in Yorkshire are stable.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Recorded over all five vice-counties but usually only taken in ones or twos each year at any one locality. An exception to this is at Spurn (VC61) where it varies annually from one or two to quite numerous (BRS pers. comm.).
