Yorkshire Status: Common and fairly widespread resident.

Sutton & Beaumont, 1989: Recorded most frequently from moorland and lowland heaths and in small numbers in other lowland areas in all five vice-counties.

2012 (CHF): Widespread and doing well across the county in both upland and lowland habitats. The second brood in July/August dwarfs the smaller first brood in May/June.
